Looking for an apartment with the right requirements in Rayong, for my 5 months stay, is not as easy as it looks like.
After Ranice left Thailand to fly back to the Netherlands, I spend my first days in a hotel, where I could not unpack my suitcase because of the little space in the closet, I decided to find a place where I can live for 5 months, not only stay for the time being.
Too many options, means a lot of hesitation.
15 different apartments, 10 different places and 4 days of looking around
Together with some colleagues from Kaefer I went to see some places where they had the possibility to rent an apartment to live in for 5 months. There were a lot of options. We went to Suppalai hotel, Ultimate hotels, Kantary Bay, PK stay and many more. After 15 different apartments, 10 different places and 4 days of looking around, I found a wonderful apartment at the Wisdom hotel.
Wisdom Hotel
You’ll be surprised of the luxury this room has. It is so perfect for me. It has a living room, a separate bathroom and a separate bedroom. I can cook my own food, I have a large fridge to keep my beers cold and I even have a smart TV. This apartment is perfect for me, so we, Kaefer, Wisdom and I, went in negotiation about the price. Happily the price for this apartment was in Kaefer's budget, this means that they will pay the full price for my stay.
Transportation
They drive like maniacs, but act like a maniac yourself and you will survive
Wisdom Hotel is not near the office of Kaefer. That is why I needed to find a way to go to work and back home. Public transportation is not really an option, because they only stop at the main places and Kaefer is not at the main road. A car is a serious option, however they are driving on the left side of the road instead of the right, the steering wheel is on the right hand side instead of the left hand side and, the most important, Thai people drive like maniacs. Therefore, I suggested a scooter/motorcycle. It is more cheap, less complicated and less dangerous. Why less dangerous? Just because of the fact that if you act like a maniac too, you will survive in this traffic and reach your destination.
