Insides of KAEFER Engineering Thailand

KAEFER Engineering is a subsidiary of KAEFER. KAEFER Engineering is located in Thailand. Together with countries like Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore KAEFER is represented in South East Asia.

KAEFER is a worldwide company. It has subsidiaries all around the world, in South America as well as in Europe and Australia. Carl Kaefer established Kaefer 100 years ago in 1918 in Bremen. There they started with some small projects to do the interior of some large ships. After 100 years of different CEO's, different employees and different trends, KAEFER is still alive. At this moment KAEFER is a company which delivers a Business to Business service 90% of the time. They deliver different services, such as access solutions, insulation, interior design, surface protection, refractory, passive fire control and asbestos solutions. These services are all very interesting for KAEFER worldwide. For KAEFER Engineering, however, the services of access solutions and insulation are the main services they focus on.

KAEFER Engineering provides insulation for a lot of companies in Thailand. You probably know insulation in the form of Rockwool or aluminium. If you don't know anything about insulation, no problem, it is not so exciting or anything. KAEFER Engineering does something in insulation, but what do they do then??

KAEFER Engineering provides a full services and maintenance for big oil, chemical, power and offshore companies to insulate there pipelines. The pipelines, these companies use, are used for transportation of different materials to make an end product. These materials go into the pipeline with a specific temperature and will leave the pipeline with the same or a different temperature. And there is where KAEFER Engineering enters the story. KAEFER Engineering makes sure that with their insulation the temperature in the pipelines will be exactly the right one which the materials need to be. This is not as easy as it sounds, because they need to keep in mind all different factors which can influence the temperature of the material as well as the temperature of the pipeline itself. This is a very technical process and a lot of people are involved in these projects.

Besides the insulation, KAEFER Engineering also offers access solutions. An example of access solutions is scaffolding. Some of the pipelines are located 10 meters or higher above the ground. If workers need to enter these pipelines they are not allowed to climb up the pipeline itself, therefore, scaffolding will be very useful.

KAEFER Engineering is trying to find new customers at the moment, by creating blue ocean initiatives to no longer compete with their competitors but to try and seek for a totally new market. With these initiatives I can be helpful. I can use my way of thinking to create a blue ocean initiative and to help my colleagues with selling our ideas to new customers. Hopefully I can look back at a useful, meaningful and helpful time at KAEFER Engineering in July.
