Travels & us

Travelling is something that I like to do. I travel most of the time together with my girlfriend. We are trying to see the best places and flying towards every country we want, as cheap as possible, but also with the most luxury possible.

Together with Ranice, we have already been to Hong Kong for 10 days. She was there doing a summer school for 7 weeks and I visited her to see the city for 10 days. However, our passion for travelling did not start off with a trip far away. It started when we went to Cologne in Germany. During our stay in Cologne, we found out that we both like to do something exciting during our trip, for example, going to a theme park, or water park or competing in an adventure park. After our short trip in Cologne we travelled a lot in and around the Netherlands, because we did not have so much money yet. We drove to Scheveningen, Zandvoort, Amsterdam, Bergen op Zoom, Winterberg and many more cities and villages. Around the same time, end of 2015, we both found a well payed side job, where we worked a lot of hours to earn some money for our trips.

The first big trips

Our first big trip started in June 2015. We went to Marrakech for one week, to visit the capital of Marocco. This was a great week where we were ashtonished about the culture of the country and its bearing. In July 2015 Ranice flew off to Hong Kong for 7 weeks, and I visited her for 10 days in this beautiful region. This region has so many different sides, on the one hand there is a lot of industry, on the other hand magnificent nature and there are also a lot of skyscrapers and business sides of the city.

Besides the trips we did together, we also travelled a lot separated from each other. I went to France and Ital

y to go skiing, she went to Lisbon and Dubai to enjoy the sun. However, the trips we made together we had the most of fun. In April 2017 we went to Dubai for 1 week. The first day I spent all alone in the great city of Dubai, because Ranice had missed her flight, during circumstances. In June 2017 we went to Disneyland Paris, to enjoy our 2 year anniversary at the place Ranice loves the most. In July 2017 we went to Italy for a roadtrip of 15 days. We drove to San Cassiano in The Alps, Venice, Bologna and to Florence. Also in July 2017, Ranice went to New York for a couple of days, where I stayed in Holland to start my training sessions for the new field hockey season. In December 2017 we travelled to Tenerife for 10 days, just to discover the island by renting a car and driving from south to north along the east coast and back, from north to south, along the west coast. During our latest trip we went to Thailand, as you already know. In January 2018 we flew to Bangkok and drove to Hua Hin to enjoy our time together before we were to be separated for 5 months.

You don't have to pay much to get luxurious trips, you just have to do some good research, which will take some time.

What about these low pricing?

Every time we went away, we tried to do the most luxurious things, but for the lowest price. In Hong Kong we tried not to book any hotel rooms for my 10 days stay, we slept together in 1 bed in Ranice her dorm. In Dubai we slept in the same room as Ranice her parents, to save a lot of money and eventually to go to waterpark Wild Wadi, free of charge. Our stay in Paris wa

s in a cheap hotel, this resulted in a pricy entrance ticket only. Our road trip to Italy costed us 600 euro's each, because we slept in Airbnb's, but these rooms had a lot of luxury in it. We had one Airbnb with a private bedroom, living room and 5 minutes walk from the city centre of Florence, for 60 euro's per night. Our return flights to Tenerife costed us 120 euro's in total. In Tenerife we payed 120 euro's for renting a car and 500 euro's for staying at Airbnb's. Here we also had two beautiful stays, at one location we had a whole house for only the two of us and at the second one we had a bungalow with a magnificent view and a home cinema. At our latest travel to Hua Hin we went to a hotel where we payed 50 euro's per night and where we had a jacuzzi in our room. So, you don't have to pay much to get luxurious trips, you just have to do some good research, which will take some time.
